Going to the Dogs (and Cats!)

As some of you know, I am an animal lover. I have been on the Development Committee of the Connecticut Humane Society (CHS) for several years and love what they do to benefit homeless pets. They have no affiliation to the State of Connecticut and rely on donations and sponsorships. The main campus is in Newington with satellite campuses in Waterford and Westport. A new state-of-the-art facility has just broken ground in Wilton.

There are programs for low-cost animal medical issues. There are programs to educate children in schools and clubs in proper animal care and respect for all animals. There are programs to help low income or elderly people keep their pets through food pantries and travelling vet clinics.

Currently, there is an on-line PawParazzi Pet Photo contest and I have entered my beautiful dogs Spanky and Sunny Boy. Please take a moment to vote for them or enter your own pet, consider buying a 2025 calendar or Reserve-a-Spot for your pet’s special day. The money will go to a great cause and further the work of a great organization. Voting is through June 28th, 2024.
